TAPP Writes to U.S. House Energy & Commerce Committee Subcommittee to Urge 340B Drug Pricing Program Reform
The Trade Alliance to Promote Prosperity today wrote to the U.S. House of Representatives Energy & Commerce Committee Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee to urge reform of the 340B drug pricing program.
In part, TAPP wrote, "Because of the lack of oversight of the 340B program, big healthcare systems are gaming the system with abandon to line their pockets. This happens 1) at the expense of the underserved patients for whom Congress meant to provide price relief, 2) at the expense of taxpayers who are footing the bill for the public employees’ insurance plans that are being fleeced, and 3) at the expense of the cutting-edge biopharmaceutical research and development and innovation that Americans have come to expect.
