Let’s Make It an Educational and Inspiring World IP Day!
April 26 is World Intellectual Property Day. Started in 2000, World IP Day offers an opportunity to join with people around the world to consider how intellectual property (IP) enables and enlivens the innovation and creativity that drives human progress. World IP Day highlights the role that IP rights play in encouraging innovation and creativity.
At the Trade Alliance to Promote Prosperity, we celebrate World IP Day because we believe:
Protecting American innovation and intellectual property must be a priority in trade negotiations.
Successful free trade agreements that protect IP rights will support many future American jobs.
To support the global supply chain, America must streamline and enforce international regulations, including IP rights.
Helping to strengthen the economies of our trading partners—and IP rights—will grow private sector investments overseas and support secure, good-paying jobs here at home.
In 2022, we are celebrating youth-led innovation. In doing so, the Trade Alliance to Promote Prosperity is showcasing some of the contributions that young people are making. We are also trying to educate young people about IP and its importance in supporting young innovators’ goals, in transforming their ideas into reality, and in generating income, creating jobs, and making a positive impact in the world.
We have created a fact sheet that is suitable for classroom use and for explaining basic information about patents, copyrights, and trademarks. Click here to download the fact sheet.
We have also created a one-page World IP Day handout that highlights several young innovators from across the globe. Click here.
In addition, we are promoting World IP Day on social media. Please follow the Trade Alliance to Promote Prosperity on Twitter, on Facebook , and on LinkedIn for even more resources.
